Time Suunto Vector watch

This chunky watch features compass, altimeter, barometer and temperature functions, a host of hidden extras (fat manual included) and all the usuals. As a cyclist, it's been great to have an accurate altimeter for climbing passes and acclimatisation, as well as general curiosity. So too with the temperature function, though the watch has to be removed for an accurate reading. The compass feature has come in handy on occasions and overall, it's a great box of tricks.

Not designed as a diver's watch, the Vector is 30m water resistant and should resist the heaviest downfall. Unfortunately, we have to report condensation in the LCD display of our model, which we'll be returning under warranty. The low-battery symbol appeared soon after purchasing the watch, to no obvious effect several months later. A popular watch, we've met plenty of other travellers - bike riders and climbers included - who have had no such problems with their Suuntos.
